Floorcloth Maintenance
Sweep or vacuum your floorcloth often, to prevent dirt from scratching the varnished surface. Damp mop with mild soap, rinse and dry. A mild liquid abrasive cleaner (I use baking soda) can be used on particularly dirty areas.
Depending on traffic, a floorcloth can benefit from renewing the wax coating periodically. Remove the old wax by washing with a mild liquid abrasive cleanser, and clean and dry the floorcloth thoroughly before applying a thin coat of non-yellowing paste wax. Allow to dry before buffing. Your floorcloth should last many years with only a minimum of upkeep!
